As you will be aware we got Ella back at the end of August 2007 after she went missing for 3 weeks. Since her return she has not been a well cat and in December she was diagnosed with cancer. The vet found a growth in her nose. Since the beginning of December she has been going the vets on a weekly basis to have chemotherapy and various steroid injections. Considering this grueling protocol that she is under Ella is doing remarkably well; she has her off days (don’t we all), the only trouble that we have from her is getting her into her cat box each Friday morning.
Our vets have been fantastic and have been very patient with Ella and the Kman and I especially when it became apparent that Ella would not allow us to give her her medication, so the vets kindly took that off of us, they now give her her tablets each week. Her chemotherapy has now been reduced to every 3 weeks, which is good news.
As we didn’t think we would get her back after she went missing we count everyday that we have her at home as a blessing, if she is still with us at Christmas we will be over joyed. As you can imagine she is being spoilt rotten and her every need is being pampered too.

It has been a long time since both the K-man and I have entered anything on the blog, it is not because we have not got anything to tell you but just the fact that we haven’t got round to it.
I am going to make a conserted effort to record the mundane things in life so that you can have a chuckle at our expense.

It seemed to get here far too quickly and now Christmas is over and we are waiting for 2008 to begin.
Thank you to Kman and all my family and friends for the wonderful presents I got for Christmas, I was very lucky and shall enjoy all of them. I have tried hard not to each too much but I still feel as if I have piled on the pounds, the Kman and I have already started our regimein our newly converted room.
Happy New Year to everyone and all the best for 2008

The Kman and I along with five other family and friends went to see “War of the Worlds” at Nottingham Arena. This was a Christmas present from Kman.
The musical was written back in 1976 and is based on the story by HG Wells. It has a well known score and is loved by old and young. The Kman and I had been looking forward to this all year (tickets were brought as Christmas presents in January), we had brought the DVD of the show in November last year and enjoyed it so much that when the opportunity arose to see it live, we snapped it up.
The arena was well situated and sold the best hot-dogs we have tasted for a long time. I don’t know that exact capacity of the arena but there was not an empty seat in the place. The Kman had purchased fantastic seats which were about 20 rows from the front and slightly off centre which gave us a perfect view of the whole stage and the “virtual” Richard Burton.
It was a fantastic experience and a throughly enjoyable evening and one Christmas present I shall remember for a long time.
Thank you Kman xxx

The Kman and I along with a couple of friends went to see Within Temptation at the Carling Academy in Birmingham. We had a bit of a horrendous drive down even though we left Northampton at 2.00, rush hour in Birmingham seems to start at 3.30!! We queued fpr about 40 minutes but were quickly in the venue and after casing the joint we found our spot for the night and waiting with anticipation for the support act to appear.
The support act were called the “69 eyes” and were from Finland. There were good and the drummer was completely mad. The group were well received and seem to enjoy the attention from the crowd. As soon as the group left the stage there seem to be a surge of people waiting for Within Temptation to come on stage, unfortunately some really tall (selfish) people stood in front of us, so we ended up seeing the back of someones head for most of the concert with the occasional glimpse of Sharon (the vocalist).
Within Tempataion were fantastic and sounded brilliant live, they sang my favourite song - “Angels”, I knew quite a lot of the songs and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I think that this band are just going to get bigger and more popular and hopefully when they do their next UK tour it will be in a venue like the NEC.
Score 10/10

The Kman and I have just returned from a holiday in Cornwall. Whilst we were there we visited the Eden Project, we had previously visited 5 years ago when it was in it’s infancy. We were not to be disappointed, there was still lots to see and plenty of photo opportunities. Since our last visit they had built new exhibit called “The Core”, this was an excellent exhibition which also housed a marble sculpture called “The Seed”.
After visiting the Eden Project I am determined to do more for the environment and recycle where possible. The shop at the Eden Project was inspirational too as it had a wide range of items that had been recycled and made into other products for example; bags and pencil cases that had been made out of drinks cartons and glass products that had been made from recycled glass.
If you ever go to Cornwall on holiday I would highly recommend a visit to the Eden Project, the cost was £14 per adult but is well worth it. You can find out more information at www.edenproject.com
